Editorial & Corrections Policy

This policy sets out the standards for reviewing and improving GravelScope’s tools and guides. It does not imply that every page has been professionally reviewed.

Effective date: October 9, 2026

Sources and scope

Technical claims should be checked against relevant primary sources such as government guidance, university extension resources, manufacturer specifications and industry documents. A source should support the specific claim beside it.

Road guidance is not automatically a shed-foundation specification. A supplier’s local price is not a national installed-price dataset.

Calculator assumptions

Tools should distinguish user inputs, illustrative defaults and supplier-confirmed information. Formulas, unit conversions and purchase rounding should be checked against worked examples.

Results should make important exclusions visible. Separate material allowances and confirm whether rates include delivery, labor or other costs.

Pricing and changing information

Price examples should identify the supplier or source, location, product, units, date and relevant exclusions. Current availability and final delivered cost need confirmation with the supplier.

Do not treat a page’s updated date as proof that every underlying price or specification has been refreshed.

Responsibility and review

GravelScope is responsible for the content it publishes. Claims should be supported by relevant sources, and calculator results should be checked against worked examples.

Specialist review is identified only when it has actually occurred, with the reviewer and scope stated. The existence of a calculator does not establish professional credentials.

Corrections

Send suspected errors to [email protected] with the page URL and supporting details. Reports should be assessed against the underlying calculation or source before a correction is made.

Material corrections should be reflected in the affected tool, examples, tables and FAQs together. We do not promise a fixed response time or an uninterrupted service.

Commercial independence

Paid relationships should be disclosed near the relevant promotion. Payment is not evidence that a product fits a project. See our Advertising & Commercial Disclosure and Disclaimer.
